As someone with an obsession with eyebrows, I’m here to tell you some common eyebrow mistakes that you might be making and how to fix them!
Choosing your brow shape based on whatever is trending! There is no guarantee that something trending is meant for you. Whether it’s feathered, thick, fluffy, thin, arched, rounded, or straight eyebrows, be mindful of your face shape, forehead size, and eye shape when choosing your brow shape.
Grooming your brows every few months if you have thick eyebrow hairs! If you have unruly and long eyebrow hairs every few weeks, it's important to get them groomed every 3-4 months. This may mean that your brows will be a little thinner than usual but don’t fret because it will grow back! Everyone has a different hair growth cycle, so getting them groomed is different from getting them waxed, or threaded. This involves extra trimming and plucking hair to lessen hair volume.
Use brow gel! The simplest beauty hack is brow gel! Use brow gel before you begin your day to set them in place. This will create the perfect uniform eyebrow look and give your face more face as I always say! When using brow gel, I recommend vertical strokes upwards first. Once the gel is applied onto the brows, go in and brush them into place horizontally normally holding the wand/spoolie brush. Remember to gently wash off all of the brow gel when cleansing your face at the end of the day.
Exfoliate the brow area on your face! When doing your skincare routine make it a habit to gently exfoliate around the brows two to three times a week. Doing this will help in
removing dead skin around the brows and flaking
encourage blood flow to the eyebrow area which helps with brow hair growth
prevent ingrown hairs and bumps
